Geocache Description:

(Denne geocachen var X-Mjøs#24 i 2018)
Halvannen kilometer utenfor Elverum sentrum finner du fremtidens bydel.

One and a half kilometer outside the city centre of Elverum, you will find a neighborhood of the future. 700 new housing units, a kindergarten, a school and several stores are being built here. An essential part of the idea behind the project, is that the neighborhood shall have an urban feel to it, while one at the same time always will have the feeling of being close to nature.

The investments that are being made will reach an amount of 3-4 billion kroner when the project is done. The apartments will have low expenses when it comes to maintenance and energy consumption. The energy will be imported from district heating, solar cells and ground water. Paths for pedestrians and cyclists, with a quality that not many places in Norway can claim to have, are being facilitated.

Welcome to Elverum!
