Piet Mondrian (* 1872 - †1944) je jedným z najvplyvnejších maliarov klasického modernizmu v 20. storočí. Ako zástupca avantgardného umenia bol jedným zo zakladateľov abstraktnej maľby a prehĺbil štýl konštruktivizmu. Vytvoril takzvaný neoplasticizmus, sústredil sa na horizontálne a vertikálne línie, ktorými vymedzoval farebné povrchy. Nakoniec sa zameral iba na používanie primárnych farieb a takzvaných "nefarieb", bielej a čiernej.

Mondrianov štýl podpisu sa naďalej používa v umení, architektúre, móde, nábytku, reklame, popovej kultúre a v poslednej dobe dokonca aj v geocachingu.

As a representative of avant-garde art he was one of the founders of abstract painting and deepened the style of constructivism. He created so-called neoplasticism, concentrated on the horizontal and vertical lines defining the colored surfaces. Finally, he focused only on the use of primary colors and white & black.

Mondrian's signature style continues to be used in art, architecture, fashion, furniture, advertising, pop culture and even recently in the geocaching.

Als Vertreter der Avantgardekunst war er einer der Begründer der abstrakten Malerei und vertiefte den konstruktivistischen Stil. Er schuf den sogenannten Neoplastizismus, der sich auf die horizontalen und vertikalen Linien konzentriert, die die farbigen Oberflächen definieren. Schließlich konzentrierte er sich nur auf die Verwendung von Primärfarben und weiß & schwarz.

Mondrians Stil wird weiterhin in Kunst, Architektur, Mode, Möbel, Werbung, Popkultur und in letzter Zeit sogar im Geocaching verwendet.
