I have always liked looking out for these barn quilts while out for a drive or caching along the back roads, it kind of makes the drive a little more pleasant in
HURON COUNTY.
CELEBRATE
Agricultural societies encourages the awareness and to appreciate agriculture in their particular areas, like that of Seaforth. There are other organizations and groups that have ways for others to learn about their local farming lands. This barn quilt was made as a result of these people, past and present. Agriculture community awareness and along with the board had purchased the large commemorative mural that was displayed during IPM “Huron Shines in ‘99” which featured all the previous matches hosted in this county. This now historical piece of art is mounted, downtown Seaforth for future generations to enjoy. Now in 2017 this proudly displayed “Celebrate” Barn Quilt will be viewed in years to come as a remembrance of this IPM when “Huron Hosts on Ontario’s West Coast” along with the many volunteers that helped make that event go so well.

Each classroom or group is shown with a different colour, staff have added their hands along the bottom as the foundation to our tree.
IPM 2017 is where the barn quilt craze mainly started in Huron County as a contest.
Barn quilts originally started there roots in Ohio.
Barn quilts tell stories.
The proper size for a barn quilt is 8'x8'.
They draw motorists to our rural highways, roads that have many stories to tell.
Barn Quilts are rural graffiti – civic art about sacred places, battlefields, and historic locations.

PLEASE DO NOT FIND this cache at night - the placement is contingent on finds OCCURRING DURING THE DAY.
ABSOLUTELY NO NIGHT CACHING, RESPECT THE NEARBY HOMEOWNERS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH QUITE A FEW OF THEM AND ASSURED THEM THAT THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN.
