Geocache Description:

This ammo can is hidden in the hills overlooking hills to the southwest whose profile looks like an old man - hence the name of those hills and this cache.

This silver painted ammo can is hidden near the end of an old dirt road. The rating for this cache is based on hiking to the cache after parking at the start of the dirt road just west of the new developement along Irvington Road which is now blocked by a cactus. Hike up the hill, following the dirt road about 450 feet past an old deteriorating rock house. The Old Man of the Mountain is visible off to the left as you hike up this hill.

The first visitors will find a watergun, a dreamcatcher windchime, a shuttle astronaut keychain, a sleeve of 3 Top Flite XL golfballs and an emergency poncho.

We had first explored this area in the early 1990s before Irvington was paved and went all the way through the pass here. The stone building was along the side trail that came straight from the East through the newly cleared developement or from the trail that still exists - there was a spiders web of small 4WD trails in this area and some of them are still visible, though most are blocked off with rocks, cacti or fences nowadays as the area is being developed with houses.

This is the first of 2 geocaches placed in celebration of my first full year of Geocaching.
