Le champ de foire de Gimel est le témoin d’une époque (de la fin du XVIIIe siècle jusqu’à la fin de la première guerre mondiale) où le village de Gimel était connu pour ses foires jusqu’à Lausanne, Vevey, Yverdon et même Genève. La parcelle en triangle actuellement conservée servait de foire aux bêtes.
La cache est facilement accessible. La difficulté est de la déloger sans se faire remarquer car l’endroit peut être très fréquenté.
