Geocache Description:

“Pinewood Cemetery is one of Daytona’s oldest cemeteries, many of Daytona’s earliest settlers, including Burgoyne, Jackson, Day and Maley, graves can be seen. It is located on property purchased in 1873 by John W. Smith, a settler from Canada. He originally advertised the land as cemetery lots in 1883, but it was not used until 1887 when, ironically, the first person to be buried there was his own 19-year-old daughter. The cemetery is open 8:00-5:00 daily, enjoy a peaceful walk over the ancient rolling grassy dunes in the shade of majestic oaks. Stay alert and attentive while in or near this burial site as several ghost still roam the grounds. The story goes that Adler Rawlings roams around looking for his head that was detached from his skeleton when a bunch of not so charming kids were using his tomb as a clubhouse and decided to play soccer with his bones….. His head and several fingers were never recovered…… Does the widow Bergone, who died in 1944, dressed all in black, still weep by the grave of her long past husband who waits for her?…. If ghosts are not your thing you just might be better off on a seat across the street.

You are searching for a small camouflaged container with log only, bring your own pen. The cache is not located on the graveyard property it is accessible from the sidewalk.
