Cache Description
This is a 4 stage mystery cache. You must visit each stage posted in the additional waypoint section below. At each stage you will gather a part of the 4 digit combination that unlocks the ammo can that is placed at the posted coordinates (inside the office). It is strongly recommended you pick up a copy of the self-guided tour pamphlet as there are very few information panels throughout the fort.
Stage 1. Fort McAllister: A Proving Ground. "On July X, the Union ships..." Use the second number in X. This number = 'A'.
Stage 2. What Did Blockade Runners Carry? "The Fingal, later the ironclad Atlanta brought in over X cases of rifles..." Use the first number in X. This number = 'B'.
Stage 3. Read the number on the post at the posted coordinates. Take this number and minus 6. This number = 'C'.
Stage 4. Read the number on the post at the posted coordinates. Take this number and minus 3. This number = 'D'.
The code to unlock the lock on the Geocache is 'ABCD'.
