Cache Description

This is a 4 stage mystery cache. You must visit each stage posted in the additional waypoint section below. At each stage you will gather a part of the 4 digit combination that unlocks the ammo can that is placed at the posted coordinates (inside the office).

Stage 1. Proceed out of the front door of the museum and turn left toward the 'Nature Trail' sign. You will pass through an open grassy area and enter a wooded area adjacent to the marsh. Follow the nature trail signs. Continue towards the 'Observation Deck' on the map. You will see a sign entitled 'Age of Rice'. On the bottom panel of the sign are three pictures. Take the middle name of the person in the center picture. The number of letters in this middle name = 'A'.

Stage 2. You can follow either the Nature Trail or return to the Short Path to the Plantation House. Just prior to reaching the 'Main House' you will come to a building labeled Ice House/Garage. In the 1930s garage is Ophelia Dent’s last vehicle, a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The vehicle displays the original license plate from 1970. The last digit on the plate = 'B'.

Stage 3. Just behind the Ice House/Garage you will see a white wooden fence. Proceed towards the fence and you will see an opening to walk through. As you go through the fence the large white building to your left will be the Commissary Barn. Beneath this barn you will observe a tractor. The model of this tractor is a combination of two words. Add the number of letters in the first word and subtract the number of letters in the second word. The resulting number = 'C'.

Stage 4. Now you will return to the museum. Continue past the Commissary Barn to the Dairy Barn. Turn right into the open field towards a circular concrete structure, which is the foundation of an old silo. Continue past the Silo foundation through the field, following the trail through the museum. In the museum you will find an interpretive display title "In the Field Sowing". On this display a method of coating the rice is described. The number of letters in this method = 'D'.

The code to unlock the lock on the Geocache is 'ABCD'.
