Cache Description
This is a 3 stage mystery cache. You must visit each stage posted in the additional waypoint section below. At each stage you will gather a part of the 4 digit combination that unlocks the ammo can that is placed at the posted coordinates (inside the office).
Stage 1. John Jarrell’s son, Dick, returned to the plantation in 1895 to help rejuvenate the farming operation and raise his family, including his wife and 12 children. As you step inside the front door of the 1895 house, imagine how they fit such a large family in this two room farm house, and count the number of beds you can see in each of the two rooms. This includes children’s beds and cradles. (Make sure to look through the windows to find ALL the beds!) This number = 'A'.
Stage 2. Three generations of Jarrell’s lived in the original plantation house, built in 1847. Having been the center of family life for so many Jarrells, you can still see a number of family portraits hanging on the walls. Look in from the front door and count the number of portraits you see (they hang on the three visible walls). Then walk around and look in from the back of the house, how many portraits can you see in the dining room? (Note that there are two different entrances to the house, make sure to check both out!) Add the number of portraits. This number = 'B'.
Stage 3. As you explore the mill complex, think about how steam power helped industrialize Jarrell Plantation, and look for a two digit number on the Scholfield steam engine. This number = 'CD'.
The combination for the lock on the Geocache is 'ABCD'.
