Cache Description
This is a 3 stage mystery cache. You must visit each stage posted in the additional waypoint section below. At each stage you will gather a part of the 4 digit combination that unlocks the ammo can that is placed at the posted coordinates (inside the office).
Stage 1. Noble Jones died in 1775 and he was buried right here on this property! But, he was later relocated by one of his family members to a different cemetery. Another one of his family members, George Wimberly Jones DeRenne, placed a memorial where the gravesite used to be. How many coils are on the gate door at the Jones Family original gravesite? Divide this number by 2. What is your answer? Call this number 'X'.
Stage 2. Stage 2: You will discover an example of a wattle and daub house built to the same dimensions as the first houses in Savannah in the 1730s. You will see a ladder leading to the loft. Count the number of rungs in the ladder. This number = 'Y'.
Stage 3. In the museum, there is a map titled “Home for Defense.” During the Colonial period, there were several fortifications and batteries along the coast to protect the colony of Georgia. How many of these forts are indicated by black stars on the map south of the Altamaha River? This number = 'Z'.
To get the combination for the lock on the geocache, solve the following math formula: (1532 + 'X') + ('Y' times 500) - (1244 + 'Z') = 'ABCD'.
