A parte quei piccoli tratti ripidi che si inerpicano sulle colline o in cima ai paesi, come quella proposta in questa cache, a ridosso di Cisternino. Questa cache vi porterà ad osservare da vicino la vegetazione mediterranea spontanea, in particolare quella che si sviluppa a ridosso della pietra.
L'Edera irlandese (hedera Iberinca) è una liana sempreverde molto simile all’edera comune ma con rami e radici particolarmente resistenti e un manto di foglie fitto che si sviluppa a “cupola” attorno alle strutture a cui si radica. Alcuni trulli in rovina, invasi da questa pianta, vengono - per assurdo - preservati dal crollo in quanto la pianta diventa parte integrante e portante della struttura. In questo caso potrete osservare come un’edera ha avvolto completamente una porta in pietra lungo il sentiero.Quest’edera cresce indisturbata sulla pietra da anni e probabilmente questa cache rimarrà in sede finchè qualcuno non deciderà di potarla radicalmente.

This cache will lead you to closely observe the spontaneous Mediterranean vegetation, especially that which grows close to the stone.
The Irish Ivy (hedera Iberinca) is an evergreen liana very similar to the common ivy but with particularly resistant branches and roots and a thick mantle of dense leaves that develops like a dome around the structures to which it is rooted. Some ruined trulli, invaded by this plant, are preserved from collapsing as the plant becomes an integral and supporting part of the structure. In this case you can observe how an ivy has completely wrapped a stone door along the path. This ivy grows undisturbed on stone for years and probably this cache will remain in place until someone decides to cut the plant radically.
