The Mill Towne Building just east of GZ was erected in 1915 as part of the Curtis, Towle, and Paine Co. Venture inside, it is beautifully redone with much of the original architecture, brick and wood still intact. It is in the Track District of Lincoln. If you wander around to the north of GZ, you can see railway sleepers and some spikes of the remnants of the track that used to be here. I followed it a ways to the north and east and even though the track disappears, you can still see the path it took. Walking, I lost it at M St. and couldn't find many maps that honed in on Lincoln that I could zoom in enough to see detail, but the old maps are very interesting.
The background of this page is a map of the lines in Nebraska circa 1874.
