Geocache Description:

Across the road from this cache is Kentgrove.

Kentgrove was settled around 1840-1850 and over the years has had many owners, including 3 mayors of Goulburn (2 of whom became members of the Legislative Assembly). It was also owned by Ernie Hles who owned Canberra's Uriarra Homestead. In the mid 1800's it started as a small orchard and expanded over the years to the point that by the 1930s it was the largest orchard in NSW.  An onsite jam factory and cannery was constructed in the late 1800's and expanded in the early 1900s.  Jam from the farm was exported to England and all over Australia.

New owners in 1930, converted the farm into a sheep station and the jam factory became a sheering shed.

The homestead has been well maintained and the gardens are multi-award winning.
