ITA Villa Palagonia: costruita nel 1715 da T.M. Napoli, è caratterizzata da sculture grottesche; proprio la presenza delle innumerevoli bizzarre sculture ha fatto sì che venisse conosciuta anche come "Villa dei Mostri". La sua costruzione ebbe inizio nel 1715 per volere di Don Ferdinando Gravina Principe di palagonia. per la progettazione di questa residenza fu incaricato il frate domenicano Tommaso Maria Napoli già citato sopra con la qualifica di ingegnere militare.le statue raffigurano animali fantastici figure antropomorfe statue di dame e cavalieri musicisti e caricature varie punto la villa possiede uno straordinario disegno planimetrico unitario con tutti gli elementi che si sviluppano e agiscono coordinatamente rispetto all'asse baricentrico del viale. Molto particolare è lo scalone a doppia rampa realizzato in pietra calcarea sotto il fastoso stemma della famiglia gravina. alla destra del piano nobile si accede alla galleria o Sala degli specchi avente il soffitto interamente ricoperto da specchi con dipinti raffiguranti una balaustra con sovrastante cielo e uccelli. le pareti di questa grande sala sono adornate con finissimi marmi con vetri colorati e altorilievi marmorei rappresentanti il fondatore della villa è il nipote committente dei mostri con le rispettive mogli. sul pavimento è raffigurato un accurato disegno in marmo policromo del 700 italiano. nel 1885 la villa fu acquistata dalla famiglia castronovo che ancora oggi grazie ai suoi eredi rende possibile la visita alla villa. Informazioni: aperta al pubblico tutti i giorni (1 novembre - 31 marzo) dalle ore 9:00 alle 13:00 e dalle 15:30 alle 17:30 e, nell'estate, apertura protratta fino alle ore 19:00. Ganz besonders ist die doppelte Rampentreppe aus Kalkstein unter dem prächtigen Wappen der Familie Gravina. Auf der rechten Seite des Hauptgeschosses gelangen Sie in die Galerie oder den Spiegelsaal, dessen Decke vollständig mit Spiegeln bedeckt ist. Die Gemälde zeigen eine Balustrade mit überhängendem Himmel und Vögeln. Die Wände dieses großen Saales sind mit sehr feinen Murmeln aus buntem Glas und Marmorreliefs geschmückt, die den Gründer der Villa darstellen. Im Jahr 1885 kaufte die Familie castronovo die Villa, die es dank seiner Erben auch heute noch möglich macht, die Villa zu besuchen. Information: täglich für die Öffentlichkeit (1. November - 31.
