Geocache Description:

CB is the short for Celebrate Brummelbear (4-7-1944 – 3-17-2018). Leo’s vision of events in Detroit and on Belle Isle live on in his memory.

Brummelbear’s BIMT – Not your Father’s Oldsmobile was placed for the 2008 Belle Isle “monument tour” event. How could he not remember the old slogan for Oldsmobile? Kind of an unusual place for this historical marker, but it worked well for the year we profiled automobiles started in Detroit.

A short story to go along with the license plate. . .a man that was scheduled for repair work at our home pulled into our driveway behind Leo's car. I watched the man stop for a moment and then a big smile appeared as I was waiting at the door to let him into our home. He said that he had just figured out that this must be Brummelbear's home. The repairman was a fellow cacher so his repair work was put aside as Leo and he shared some caching adventures. It was a great day for my sweetheart.

Leo was proud of his caching name. For what was to be his last birthday, I got a personalized plate for his Jeep. We were often questioned at the borders when we crossed back and forth from Canada as to what the license plate meant. When Leo would reply that it was his geocaching name that often led to a discussion as to what geocaching was. Leo loved sharing his caching adventures.
