Il cretto di Burri è un'opera land art ideata dall'artista Alberto Burri fatta di cemento e macerie del paese di Gibellina che un tempo sorgeva su questa collina, andato completamente distrutto dopo il terremoto del Belice del 1968. L'artista ha voluto mantenere la planimetria del paese originale, con le sue strade tortuose e ripide: dove ci sono, ora, i pieni di cemento, c'erano, una volta, le case. Ogni fenditura (i vecchi vicoli) è larga dai due ai tre metri, mentre i blocchi sono alti circa un metro e sessanta. L'opera ha una superficie di circa 80.000 metri quadrati: ciò la rende una delle opere d'arte contemporanea più estese al mondo. A circa 350 metri dall'opera, è possibile vedere anche i resti dei ruderi di Gibellina.

The Cretto di Burri is a land art work created by the artist Alberto Burri made of cement and rubble from the village of Gibellina that once stood on this hill, which was completely destroyed after the 1968 Belice earthquake. The artist wanted to keep the plan of the original village, with its winding and steep streets: where there are now, full of cement, there were once the houses. Each slit (the old alleys) is two to three meters wide, while the blocks are about one and a half meters high. The work has an area of about 80,000 square meters: this makes it one of the most extensive contemporary works of art in the world. At about 350 meters from the work, you can also see the remains of the ruins of Gibellina.
