Belle Isle Cachers: Our good friend and partner as the Belle Isle cachers Brummelbear got to look down and over all the cachers that came out for these memorial caches to him for 3 years, the longest any of our caches stayed active. A get honor to a great guy, we sure miss you, Leo!!

Geocache Description:


CB is the short for Celebrate Brummelbear (4-7-1944 – 3-17-2018). Leo’s vision of events in Detroit and on Belle Isle live on in his memory.


Brummelbear’s BIMT – Battle of Cuba/Porto Rico was placed for the 2008 Belle Isle “monument tour” event. The statute here drew Leo in all of the time. In 2008 our monument tour was widely like by all and though we talked of doing it again. This year there are 3 Brummelbear caches that start here so be sure to do them all while here.


Leo was a big fan of the Red Wings so he and his son (David AKA Team Little Bear) would travel to arenas all across the country to see the Wings take them all on. Of course Team Little Bear started Brummelbear geocaching so every trip also included geocaching and dinners with local fare and drinks. Leo always took the chance to have the home team fans join in his fun.
