The area behind the fence is Eureka Yard, once a part of Missouri, Kansas & Texas and the Houston & Texas Central railroads. Today, the MKT track has been abandoned and torn up except for Eureka Yard. There still is some activity there, but not much remains of its former glory.
Unfortunately, this aerial picture isn't very detailed, but it shows some interesting features of the area that were there just a few years ago and are gone now.
The radio tower in front of you was built in 1998 and is property of Union Pacific. I don't know if it's still in use.
