Geocache Description:

Gather with geocachers from near and far for a boisterous barrel of fun

before you begin prospecting for caches in the Yuma Mega Event #16!

Please arrive at 5:10 p.m. The coordinates will take you to the theater’s north parking lot at the Yuma Palms Regional Center (shopping mall and theater complex). Look for a silver pickup with balloons attached to its antenna. We will all gather there. You will need an inflated balloon (no helium, please) and a straight pin. You can bring your own, or you can get them from us. If you can blow up and tie a balloon, please do so. If not, we will be glad to blow up your balloon and tie it for you. Please pin the straight pin to your clothing in an easily accessible place and hold on to your inflated balloon. At 5:25, we will walk together to the nearby roundabout.

When the music starts, it’s time to play! Bat your balloon up and keep it in the air by batting it around with your hands. Don’t let it touch the ground, if you can help it, but no fair holding it! (Remember this game when you were a youngster?)

When the music stops, please stop and hold on to your balloon. Get your pin ready, but don’t use it yet! When “Pop Goes the Weasel” music begins, everyone should walk in a clockwise circle around the roundabout in time to the music. When the music gets to the appropriate spot, pop your balloon. If you are unsure of the appropriate spot, google “Jack-in-the-box” and watch/listen as the crank is turned on this toy. You’ll get the idea.

After popping, please pocket your deflated balloon and pin, and nonchalantly stroll away. Please clear the roundabout as quickly as possible so traffic is not inconvenienced.

You will be surrounded with great restaurants and watering holes. You may want to take advantage of these with your fellow geocachers. Thank you for joining in the fun with us!
