The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.
There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.
This site really would be better labeled as the Ethel Barnes Grave, as there is only the single interment of a six-week-old infant here, dating back to 1887. Note that this cache location is NOT by that gravesite, which can be found between two houses on North Sumac Lane just a spell up Rawhide Lane here. The original TSQ entry WAS right on site there, but that was really too awkward for both cachers and the residents on either side.
There is a small fence in reasonable repair enclosing the plot, with an unlocked gate. The site would benefit from a small amount of cleanup but otherwise is in good shape at this time. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
