A Grande Rota do Zêzere Traditional Cache

A Rede das Aldeias do Xisto é um projeto de desenvolvimento sustentável, de âmbito regional, liderado pela ADXTUR- Agência para o Desenvolvimento Turístico das Aldeias do Xisto, em parceria com 21 Municípios da Região Centro e com cerca de 100 operadores privados que atuam no território.

Estado presentes em quatro Unidades de Paisagem (Serra da Lousã, Serra do Açor, Zêzere e Tejo-Ocreza), as Aldeias do Xisto representam um belíssimo património cultural e natural. Com vastas possibilidades que vão desde a gastronomia à etnografia, das ruralidades e da ligação à natureza e à floresta, as Aldeias do Xisto têm enorme potencial turístico e não só.

O projeto Geocaching Aldeias do Xisto propõe aumentar a oferta de pontos de interesse associados a esta prática da caça ao tesouro do sec. XXI. Pretende dotar cada aldeia com pelo menos duas caches e integrar algumas já existentes em circuitos e percursos pedestres.

The Schist Villages area is a region of Portugal’s interior that has successfully been promoted to tourists. The brand is managed by the ADXTUR association, the Agency for the Touristic Development of the Schist Villages, and brings together 21 Municipalities of the central region of Portugal, and more than 100 private local operations, which all share the common strategy of promoting and revitalising an area where schist stone dominates the landscape.

Present in four Landscape Units (Serra da Lousã, Serra do Açor, Zêzere and Tejo-Ocreza), the Schist Villages represent a beautiful cultural and natural heritage. With vast possibilities ranging from gastronomy to ethnography, rurality and the connection to nature and to the forest, the Schist Villages have enormous touristic potential, among others.

The Geocaching Schist Villages Project proposes to increase the offer of points of interest associated with this practice treasure hunting of the XXI century. It intends to equip each village with at least two caches and integrate some already existent in circuits and pedestrian routes.

A GRZ - Grande Rota do Zêzere , apresenta-se como uma grande rota que liga o rio Zêzere desde a nascente no Covão de Ametade na Serra da Estrela até à foz em Constância e poderá ser percorrida a pé, de bicicleta ou de Kayak num total de 370km de aventura.

O vale do Rio Zêzere é uma das unidades territoriais que compõem o território das Aldeias do Xisto e uma das áreas naturais de maior diversidade ambiental do país. Os 370 Km de extensão da GRZ percorrem 13 concelhos e unem importantes marcas nacionais: Serra da Estrela, Aldeias do Xisto, Castelo de Bode e Rio Tejo.

O percurso da GRZ percorre uma variedade de cenários, onde é possível apreciar a riqueza da fauna e flora da região, bem como a paisagem humanizada que se foi estabelecendo ao longo das suas margens. Natureza e cultura humana mesclam-se em matizes surpreendentes ao longo do trajeto, revelando um dos segredos mais bem escondidos de Portugal. A laje em granito esconde o tesouro que procura, não perca tempo.

The GRZ - Great Route of the Zêzere, is a major route linking river Zêzere from its spring in Covão d’Ametade, Serra da Estrela, to its mouth in Constância. It can be done by foot, bike or kayak, for a total of 370km of adventure.

The river Zêzere valley is one of the territorial units that make up the territory of the Schist Villages and one of the natural areas with the greatest environmental diversity in the country. Its 370 km of extension go along 13 municipalities and unite important national brands: Serra da Estrela, Aldeias do Xisto, Castelo de Bode and Rio Tejo.

The GRZ goes along a variety of scenarios, where is possible to admire the richness of the fauna and flora of the region, as well as the humanized landscape that has been established along its banks. Nature and Human culture blend in surprising hues along the way, revealing one of Portugal's most well-hidden secrets.The slab in granite hides the treasure you are looking for, do not waste time.
