Geocache Description:

After hearing stories about big power trails out West, and seeing some such trails closer to home, I thought it might be nice to create a more leisurely trail near my home in Camden County, Georgia.  The trail begins near the Kings Bay Submarine base, home of the East Coast Trident Missile submarines, along with a couple of special ops type submarines known as SSGN's--all nuclear powered and heavily armed. The first few miles are along a divided city road, and you should be heading west during your search.

Permission has been granted by the proper authorities for the placement, and westbound traffic is usually very light, except for 3-5 in the afternoon on weekdays, when military personnel and civilian employees in the sub base are leaving for the day. Be careful and pull well off the pavement. On the portions west of I-95, caches will not be hidden in front of homes on the same side of the road, and I will try to avoid those that are in line-of-sight of existing homes. This means there will be some longer gaps between certain caches in those areas.

Caches will all be placed on the same side of public roads, usually near the outer edge of the right-of-way, with plenty of room on shoulders to pull over and grab them.  They will vary in size from micros to regular, and the D/T levels will vary, with none of them going above a 3 terrain rating.  That terrain rating, by the way, will be a good indication of whether you need to bring boots, and how high the boots have to be!

I have left some goodies and a couple of tradable tokens in those containers where they will fit. Some of the caches will be letterbox type with contents that cannot be easily swapped for nearby containers, so bring your rubber stamps if you have them.  BYOP for all of them, since most do not have room for it.  Hints will sometimes indicate the relative size of the cache (certain specialty ice cream containers are pint sized, you know, and they are quite usable when camoed for caches).

This first one is a letterbox, so inside the container you will find a stamp and ink pad. Please DO NOT REMOVE either item, as they are an essential part of the letterbox.
