Mother Rose Gertrude was Molloy College's first academic dean. She was part of the original administration that opened Molloy College on September 12th, 1955.
Stories of her role at Molloy have been memorialized through the memories of alumni: here, here, and here.
The Mother Rose Gertrude Memorial Grotto was first dedicated to Mother Rose on November 11th, 1963 by the Molloy Guild, Students and Alumni, 1959-1962. The grotto was refurbished and re-dedicated through the generosity of the McDonnell family on May 23rd, 2011.
