Christmas Carols in Ealing
The indicated coordinates are those of Ealing Abbey, where I have been delighted by carols on Christmas Eves.
The cache is within 30 minutes walk of the Abbey, at N051°31.UVW, W000°18.XYZ. Cache could be found at any time, but I recommend signing the log during a December evening to have a chance to get more of a Christmas atmosphere.
When you log your find, do tell where you have recently enjoyed hearing Christmas carols!
I have written out the first few notes of six Christmas carols. Having a low singing voice, I naturally focussed on bass parts!
- U = fourth digit of the year when A was written
- V = third digit of the year when the English translator of B died
- W = number of distinct words that appeared in the first phrase of both the first and the second textual editions of C (I.e. only count words that are in both editions, and don't double count!)
- X = third digit of the year when the composer of the music for D was born
- Y = number of times the word "donkey" appears in E
- Z = fourth digit of the year when the editor of the hymn collection, in which the version of F as known today first appeared, was born
May peace reign in your heart, whatever the season you pick up the cache!
