Better Call Saul is the prequel series to Breaking Bad. Like that series, it is filmed in and around Albuquerque. It tells the story how Jimmy McGill comes to be known as "Saul Goodman", the lawyer who put "criminal" in "criminal defense lawyer".
At the posted coordinates are the real-life Sunset Pointe apartments, setting for the fictional Sandpiper Crossing. As Jimmy starts to practice Elder Law, he meets with Irene Landry here and realizes she is being overcharged by the apartment company. This leads to a class-action lawsuit across several states as Sandpiper has locations in Texas and Colorado as well. The suit begins first through Hamlin, Hamlin, & McGill, and later with Jimmy while he's at Davis & Main in Santa Fe.
When he learns through Irene that Sandpiper Crossing has offered a settlement but Davis & Main are holding out for more, Jimmy desires to see it happen... and receive his $1,160,000 share. As the class representative, Irene is reluctant to settle the case. To hurry her along, Jimmy encourages Irene's friends, including Alma May Urbano and Amos Lydecker, to put pressure on her as they also stand to benefit from a settlement. Once he sees he's gone too far by creating a split between them leaving Irene friendless, he tries to mend things to no avail. Finally Jimmy decides reluctantly to do right by Irene. It costs him his reputation (and any future business) with the seniors.
