Geocache Description:

An alternative cache that proposes, in addition to the usual research of the box, the problem of opening it!

Puzzle boxes put their roots in some jewel cases with secret compartments, known since Renaissance time, but became object of entertainment in Victorian England (19th century), while they were already sold as souvenirs in Japan, even if there they were more complex and difficult to open.  Interest in puzzle boxes subsided during and after the two World Wars, but the art was revived in the 1980s by three pioneers of this genre: Akio Kamei in Japan,Trevor Wood in England, and Frank Chambers in Ireland.
