A Fine Pair # 1257 ~ Moorhouse Traditional Cache

Number 1257 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

The letter box here is manufactured by Allied Foundry and was made sometime in the 1950s. This was the only type of this letter box, called a lamp box made by Allied. unusually nowdays, the telephone kiosk still has a working phone in it. I can only imagine it was some years ago a paid call was made from here!
