The iconic, original Furlong House, in Queanbeyan, was built somewhere between 1805-1850,and has now been fully restored . The verandah was added by James Percy Collett whom lived in the house. In 1926, the iron lace railings were relocated from the Royal Hotel to the verandah. The 1850s Georgian terrace has received a full restoration and is now complete with pressed metal ceilings, some original fittings and tiles, and a new roof.
In keeping with the house's Victorian character, a colour scheme of white and light stone was used for the building with highlights in Indian red and turquoise .With heritage features like the unique elements of the house including the verandah's decorative lace which is from the old Royal Hotel through to the original door and window frames were restored to retain the building's character.
The cache is a micro well hidden. You will need your own pen. The historic building cache is open 24/7 and you can venture upstairs or down and around behind as well. There is no one inside,on any level ,as it is vacant. There is ample parking nearby. Satellite coverage is tricky with large buildings nearby.Any hints within found logs of your find location or hide will be removed from the page and the finder kindly asked to relog without hints.
