Have you made any New Year's resolutions? Will you join a gym, change your diet or, like us, will you try to give up looking for a plastic box every day?
The cache is not at the posted coordinates but there you will find an information board facing Scrabo's South Quarry. You will need to find the following three items on that board.
1. What year did William Montgomery write a survey of County Down?
2. For how many years was Scrabo stone quarried?
3. How many foxes are on the information board?
The final cache is at N54 34 ABC W005 42.DEF.
A = For how many hundred years was Scrabo stone quarried?
B = The year that William Montgomery wrote a survey of County Down: 1st digit + 2nd digit
C = The number of foxes pictured on information board.
D = The year that William Montgomery wrote a survey of County Down: 3rd digit - 1st digit
E = The year that William Montgomery wrote a survey of County Down: 1st digit + 3rd digit
F = The year that William Montgomery wrote a survey of County Down: 2nd digit - 1st digit
Check sum: A + B + C + D + E + F = 37
Please take note of the attributes and the D/T rating. To retrieve the final cache you will need to climb a short, steep slope before the final ascent!.
No special tool was used to place this cache. However, if you have attempted the Hangman series of caches you will be familiar with the final container, and therefore the special tool that may prove helpful! Thanks to PD for the container!
In your log please note any birds or animals that you spotted.
