This cache is located near an area of Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston known as the 'Ancient Cemetery'. The headstones date back to the early 1700's and were originally located at site of the Thomaston town hall. It is also told that a witch was buried here, that headstone can still be found and is set apart from the others about 25 yards up the trail on the right..oddly enough, when I was placing this cache, someone had left a small witch next to that stone..weird. Currently, a volunteer from the Thomaston Historical Society is cleaning and refurbishing the location and whatever headstones he can.
The cache is placed a good distance from the cemetery itself and has room for swag or tb's..should be available in winter as long as snow not too deep.

Cemeteries are off limits at night: "A person is guilty of criminal trespassing if that person enters or remains in a cemetery or burial ground at any time between 1/2 hour after sunset and 1/2 hour before sunrise the following day, unless that person enters or remains during hours in which visitors are permitted to enter or remain by municipal ordinance or, in the case of a privately owned and operated cemetery, by posting.
