**This cache was original placed by J&W who seem to have gone
MIA. Team Binder has adopted it, updated the container and moved
the cache to a more eco-friendly location very near the original
location. We have also placed a note at the original location to
lead cachers in the correct location just incase they have old
coordinates.**
To find this cache, begin your hike at the "76
Trail" head located at N. 44-21.091, W. 103-55.928. This
established trail is a 3/4 mile hike with almost 1000 feet increase
in elevation, thus quite steep in areas. But the views are worth
it.
This trail follows a gulch know as "NO NAME"and was a
historical throughfare between gold fields in Tinton and the towns
of Deadwood and Lead SD. Potatoe Creek Johnny wouold bring his poke
of gold down this trail from 5 miles west and trade it for vitals
at the Latch String Inn located at this junction in the canyon
where Spearfish Canyon Lodge Restaurant is now located.
