This cache was placed to celebrate Pineappleruin's birthday! She started caching with me way back in the autumn of 2016. The first cache she placed was the very popular Hastings Park Cache: Italian Gardens multi. It was planted on New Years Day, 2018. Her first find was Recovery of Still Creek. She found it on November 19th, 2016. Pineappleruins has had the opportunity to cache all across the Pacific Northwest and the Eastern Provinces! Pineappleruins has a deep love for science, especially biology. She works hard and does her best! She is often times at the very top of her classes. She has also won a number of very prestigious academic awards. She has shared a lot of adventures with me and hopes to share many more in the coming years. Please wish her a happy Birthday for me! This park gets it's name from the Historic Broadview Neighborhood which used to be around here. Between 1905 and 1924, the neighbourhood was settled by about 100 families. They liked the idea of living near both the B.C. Electric Railway and the Great Northern Railway. As the area was only a 20 minute drive from the city centre, the area was very desirable. The population grew continuously until the Second World Ear. After the war a number of industries bought up property in the area, including the Dominion Bridge Company. Based out of Quebec, this company over the years has worked on many local projects including the Dominion Building, the Marine Building, the Hotel Vancouver and the Lions Gate Bridge. The property was sold in the mid 70s to Bridge studios. This studio contains one of the largest special effects stages in north America.
