Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Taconic Region’s 2019 Winter Geocaching Series. You are looking for a preform along the Blue Trail.

About this cache:  If you found an Oak Titmouse in this park, the next day hoards of birders from up and down the East Coast would descend on Mills Norrie hoping to catch a glimpse of the bird, as Oak Titmice are usually found only in California.

More common around here is the Tufted Titmouse, a cute little gray bird with beady black eyes.  A quiet walk through woodlands will often turn up the twittering of a mixed-species foraging flock, and you’ll likely find titmice in attendance. You’ll often hear the high, whistled peter-peter-peter song well before you see this bird.
