Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Taconic Region’s 2019 Winter Geocaching Series. This is a field puzzle. The cache is at the posted coordinates, but you must figure out how to access and sign the log.

About this cache:   Roger Tory Peterson was born August 28, 1908 in Jamestown, NY and died July 28, 1996 in Old Lyme, CT. He was an American ornithologist, author, conservationist, and wildlife artist whose field books on birds, beginning with A Field Guide to the Birds (1934; 4th ed. 1980), did much in the United States and Europe to stimulate public interest in bird study.  In painting for his field guides, he stressed those features of each species that would aid the reader in identifying it in the field.
