Moray Roadside Conundrum Series - Secret Box1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

xbeccax: Unfortunately Additional Logging Requirements are not allowed with Traditional caches, unless optional. The whole point of this series was a mental challenge, for those who chose to give it ago, and I required the boxes to be opened and closed to fulfil a successful claim. The difficulty rating was not for finding, but the success with the box, and even then I reduced the value as I know the Internet is used by most, and I call that "modern day cheating". Once again defeating the whole point of the challenge and achievement. I do not believe in just putting out caches for "The Numbers"! Caching should be fun, interesting, educational and different, Regards Anthony

SECRET BOXES

Roadside caches, not always a favourite, and quite commonly used for speed (Cache and Dash (C&D)), normally have limited options.

This series is intended for those who like a mental challenge?  The cache should not be too difficult to locate, however opening the box to sign the log maybe??

A puzzle box (also called a secret box or trick box) is a box that can only be opened by solving a puzzle. Some require only a simple move and others a series of discoveries. Modern puzzle boxes developed from furniture and jewellery boxes with secret compartments and hidden openings, known since Renaissance time.

Puzzle boxes originated in Japan (early – mid-19th century) but are made all over the world today, especially in Costa Rica, Poland, Turkey, Vietnam, and, of course, Japan. American puzzle boxes are characterized by their various locking mechanisms, which can be made using pins, magnets, gravity and inertia. Unfortunately, there aren't many traditional puzzle box artisans anymore.

Puzzle boxes are wooden boxes that can only be opened through a series of often-complicated moves, including sliding, unlocking, lifting and pressing. Some boxes only require one or two such moves to open, while the most complicated have more than 100.

Please note that no tools are required (except fingers and thumbs).

Good eyesight also helps.

Please do NOT use excessive force.
