Geocache Description:

Long Compton Extra (LCE) cache series #02

This is the second of some extra caches set around Long Compton, a village on the extreme southern tip of Warwickshire and close to the border with Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, originally placed for a local CacheWalker Twixmas Event.

There is a mixture of cache sizes but in ALL cases, none are hidden in any dry stone walls or caps to be removed from sign posts or gates and no fences should be climbed over.

There is some on street parking along Back Lane N51°59.44 W1°34.745, please do not block driveways.

The route is about 4 miles long on public paths and bridleways but does involve walking along the side the A3400 on a path through the village. The route can be muddy and wet in places depending on the weather. There is plenty of wildlife to keep an eye out for including: deer, foxes, buzzards and kestrals. The complete circular walk, which can be done it either direction, will take approximately 2 hours.

There may be live stock on the route and if you are taking geodogs, they must be on their leads (there are several signs on the route).

The area is popular with dog walkers, so keep a look out.
