I took a picture while on vacation with my family. I believe one of my kids doctored the photo somehow and it is supposed to lead you to a cache. Hopefully someone will figure out what they did.

Not a great definition but this should help. Recursion is like an onion. Peel off a layer and the next layer is similar. Peel that layer and you have something similar. Eventually you get to the goal.
Here is an example of recursion. There is an organization called GNU that was founded by a programmer. What does GNU stand for? GNU's Not Unix. What does the GNU in that expression stand for? GNU's Not Unix. Obviously, this goes on forever. Similarly, you have a puzzle and a hint. You just need to figure out how the puzzle is recursive. Lucky for you, in the case of this puzzle the recursion ends after a number of iterations.
