These gates once lead to the Oswald Coughlan residence, the original gates have 4 large bluestone pillars with iron gates opening to tree lined drive. The estate has now been turned into a housing estate and the gates are all that remain of the original homestead.

The property is associated with three owners with prominent association in horse breeding and racing circles in Miners Rest and Ballarat, Harry Mount, Stephen Holgate and Oswald Coghlan.
