A nice hike with excellent views of Lake Winnipesaukee. The summit is 2,382 feet above sea level and the main trail is 1.75 miles long. Plan on about 45 min to an hour and 15 min to reach the cache (depending how fast you walk) The main trail has some quite steep spots closer to the top but has the most views. Take the Brook trail to bypass the steep ridges. Take the main trail down for the views.

Mount Major is very easy to find. The parking lot is located right off rte 11 along the side of Alton Bay in Alton. The parking lot is clearly marked, you can't miss it. (N 43* 31.158 / W 71* 16.428)
Take route 11 north and follow the east side of Alton bay. It's right there about one mile up on the left
