Welcome to the Taconic 2019 Winter Geocaching Series!
If you’re here in the morning (7 am to 9 am) or late afternoon (4 pm to 5 pm), you might be lucky enough to spot a bald eagle. It can be identified by its white head (which it won’t have until it is fully matured) and white tail, its straight wings during its glide, and its size – the wingspan is 6 to 7 feet, making it hard to miss.
Scan the tree line for eagles that are perched in treetops. Look overhead for eagles soaring high in the sky. Patience is the key to seeing an eagle – and it will also come in handy when searching for this cache. Stay close to the trail. No need to get too close to the edge or the stream.
