I was in St. Mary's today so took the opportunity to place a few more caches in memory of my heart dog, Bandit. 12 caches in fact as it is Christmas time! And although he is always on my mind, and with me in spirit, I do particularly miss him at this time of year.
I had just finished placing another cache near the train station and stopped at Tim Horton's for a break only to discover that the cache that was in the library gardens was no longer on the map. Delighted, I scooted right over to place one as it is such a beautiful area and I had hoped to one day be able to place cache here. The library and gardens are located right beside the Town Hall which in itself is a beautiful building, and Bandit and I wandered through the "Reading Garden" many times, often sitting on one of the commemorative benches to take a break and enjoy the serene environment. A garden oasis in the middle of town.
The cache is a micro, placed at the metal "Remember" entrance to the gardens. Please be stealthy as it is a high visibility area. Please also be gentle with the container, opening from the bottom. You will appreciate the relationship of the container to both the surroundings and the rememberance items here once you see it (update - the butterfly wings that were part of the container originally are unfortunately no longer attached). I've had this container for a while and am thankful to find an appropriate place for it. BYOP, log roller and/or tweezers may also be helpful.
