This cache is placed close to the Dunnet village hall or Britannia hall as it is named.
The Britannia Hall Committee was established in 1952 to maintain the village hall in Dunnet for the community, and is active to this day.
The hall is a vital community hub offering a wide programme of activities including badminton, bowling and tripudeo (a gentle exercise class for older people), hand spinning, SWRI meetings and a gardening club. It plays host to community gatherings and events such as bingo evenings, a Burns Supper and Christmas party, and the Marymas Fair are all held in the hall. It is also used as a drop in bank and post office, and is visited every few weeks by the travelling library van.
The cache is not in the grounds of the hall, although parking there whilst finding it would be appropriate.
