sun4all: Viel Arbeit und nicht zuletzt auch Geld ist in diesen Vogelhaus-Cache geflossen, damit er mindestens 10 Jahre in gutem Zustand dem bayerischen Wetter trotzen und viele Cacher erfreuen kann. Leider ist im schon nach zwei Wochen der Garaus gemacht worden und er ist unauffindbar. Schade, wie wenig Achtung den Werken anderer entgegengebracht wird.

Damit wandert dieser Cache leider ins Archiv.

Steckbrief Schnee-Eule (Bubo scandiacus) – ein gelegentlicher Besucher

Schnee-Eulen fallen gelegentlich (ca. alle 4 Jahre) in Deutschland ein, wenn ihnen in ihrem eigentlichen Lebensraum die Nahrung ausgeht
Lebensraum: offenes Gelände der arktischen Tundra, Island, Skandinavien, Finnland, Nordrussland.
Größe/Gewicht: 55-66 cm, ca. 2 kg
Fortpflanzung: Saisonehe, Bodenbrüter an erhöhter, windgeschützter Stelle, 6-9 Junge, die nach 2-3 Wochen das Nest verlassen und nach 8 Wochen allein Beute schlagen.
Nahrung: Lemminge, Kleinsäuger, Vögel. Schnee-Eulen speichern ca. 800 g Körperfett, um den Winter zu überleben.

Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn du eine eigene kleine Vogelfigur mitbringst, sie zusammen mit der Eule fotografierst und beim Loggen das Foto hochlädst.

Snowy owls occacionally invade Germany (every 4 years), in case there is a lack of food in their habitat.
Habitat: open ground in arctic tundra, Iceland, Scandinavia, Finland and North of Russia
Length/Weight: 55-66 cm, approx. 2 kg
Breeding: ground-breeding bird at a heightened location without wind, 6-9 young, leaving their nest after 2-3 weeks and hunting their prey by itself after 8 weeks
Hunting and Diet: lemmings, small mammals, birds. Snowy owls collect appox. 800 g fat in order to survive winter

I would be very happy if you bring with you a small figur of a bird, take a picture of it together with the snowy owl and upload it when logging the cache.
