Another "recycled" cache location.
Depending on how you approach this, there will be some amount of bushwhacking. Also, the terrain rating will go up after hard rains or after snow-melt. You all know the drill - Stay clear of the fenced area. The provided trailhead coordinates offer the easiest way into the woods, but there are more direct paths to the cache which go through more undergrowth. There is parking near the trailhead waypoint. The hint provides dead give-away info.
Although the area is open at all times, I suggest keeping your search to daylight hours because of the uneven and soft footing here. .
Another day under a partial federal government shutdown. Another cache.
The Federal Government budget didn't pass before last Friday, so after midnight last Friday, many area federal employees are on furlough.
Today 12/27/18, marks the second day when many feds are furloughed on what would ordinarily be a work day. So, in our cache series accounting - this is DAY TWO..!!
As with the shut-down in 2013, we hope to keep the local (and not-so-local) cachers with some things to do. Also, like the cache series in 2013, don't expect any gee-whiz caches.. these are plain and simple caches only guaranteed to give you a smilie. Enjoy!
To this last point - those that are on furlough are legally prohibited from doing work or using our federal electronic devices, as those activities commit the government to spending money. So, in the spirit of “doing nothing,” many of these caches involve recycled containers, recycled logs and baggies, and often recycled coordinates.
