Geocache Description:

Between a rock and a hardplace, What is Sandstone? Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of sand-size grains of mineral, rock, or organic material. It also contains a cementing material that binds the sand grains together and may contain a matrix of silt- or clay-size particles that occupy the spaces between the sand grains. These rocks are not actually sandstone......yet. They are the first stage of compressed silt and sand. Hard and Firm but lacking in density to be called rock. Eventually wind and rain will crumble these back to the small particles from which they originated. Feel free to climb on these hard clumps of sand.... and post a pic jumping off!!
