Salute The General! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rad Booley: THE GENERAL IS RETIRING 🤕
Unfortunately, after placing a new container and having it disappear before I could even reactivate the cache, it's become obvious that the location has been compromised and I don't want to keep replacing the container constantly. So, I've very reluctantly decided to archive this cache. It's had a good long run-- only a few months shy of 7 years. My thanks to all the cachers who logged this one... I hope you had as much fun finding it as I've enjoyed reading your logs and comments. So, a final "salute". Thanks again, and Happy Caching!

Geocache Description:

As you know (especially if you're an active member or veteran of our Armed Forces!) a General is the highest-ranking officer there is in the Army, Air Force, or Marines (in the Navy and Coast Guard, an Admiral is the equivalent).  Thus, any general or admiral is greeted with a salute, and that's the purpose of this cache: to greet a local General in this area (but you don't have to salute unless you want to!) winksmiley  It's an easy park & grab, especially if you're out shopping or running errands.  You're looking for a camo'd lock & lock, containing a log book and the usual swag.  There's room for trackables, geocoins, etc.  While this cache is located only a few yards from a paved parking lot, the area around GZ is near a rather steep slope and may get a bit muddy after a storm, so please watch your step and keep a close eye on your little ones if they're with you on this hunt. This is a VERY high-muggle area, so have your stealth moves at the ready and be sure to re-hide the container carefully after you've signed the log and make sure it's securely in place; if it falls out, it's gonna be out in the open and very likely to "march off". The cache is general-ly winter-friendly, but may be tricky after more than a few inches of snow.  For your safety, please do not attempt to do this cache at night.  Have fun and Happy Caching!
