This is Bob.
Bob is a very experienced Geocacher. Note his map, appropriate clothing and GPSr.
Bob recently attended a Geocaching Event, in a village hostelry close to the River Tyne that could have been called “The Ship House” or “The Barge House” but was in fact called neither, but similar.
After a few drinks, and some geo-chat, Bob had a visitation from this guy:
The Wizard of Wylam.
“Bob !” shouteth the Wizard, for he be from ye olden days, “Here be an olde mappe, scratched on parchmente back in ye mists of time. Treasure lies at the end for anyonye prepared to quest for same!”
Intrigued and alarmed in equal measure, Bob questioned the Wizard “Wizard of Wylam, why doest ye givest me such a mappe?” (for ye olde worlde talk was catching….). The Wizard replied “I give it to thee, Geocaching Bob, to protect ye mappe from being thieved by ruffians from ye neighbouring county.”
Satisfied, Bob took the crumpled parchment map. His quest for the geocaching treasure - aka a tupperware box full of water, old tat, dead insects and log so damp that even a magic Wizard’s pen couldn’t hope to write on it – had begun.
Obviously, the idea is that you help Bob with his quest. So off you go. That really shouldn’t have needed explaining. It bodes ill…….
