Wellesley Woods Walk
This series of 5 caches follows the purple Plane Trail (1.5 km) around the woods. Children may also enjoy the brass rubbings that are dotted along the trail so bring some paper and crayons! There is a nice area near the car park suitable for a picnic (weather permitting). This trail is suitable for off-road buggies and 4 of the 5 caches are not far from the trail path. Wellies advised for mini-cachers in the winter months. We hope to be able to expand on this series during 2019 as there are many other trails around this beautiful woodland.
From Duke's Wood car park (free parking, accessible for vehicles from 06:30 to 20:00) walk around the left side of the Wellington Monument to join the start of the Plane Trail. Please note that all hints and directions are given with you walking the trail from this end and in number order.
Before heading straight to #1 take a moment to walk up the steps and view the Wellington Statue. This monument to Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, victor at the Battle of Waterloo and later Prime Minister of the U.K. was sculpted by Matthew Cotes Wyatt. It was the largest equestrian statue in Britain when it was unveiled at its original location on the Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner, London in 1846. It was moved to Aldershot in August 1885. After many years of neglect a major restoration project began in 2004 to return it to it's former glory.

Please note that the GPS is a little unreliable under the canopy of trees so I have been generous with my hints on this series.
Cache #1 - you are looking for a camoflaged film-canister size container. Bring a pen.
Please re-hide as found to avoid the cache being muggled!
