Possum's possie Traditional Cache

This cache is placed near the popular Manawatu Gorge walking track (though some fit people run it), about 10 min, 200 m past the top of the Tawa Loop. There is a nice little gorge right at the beginning of the track such a contrast to the open road.  The track goes through some wonderful bush with some magnificent trees. There is a spacious carpark with toilets at the beginning.  Possum's possie is hidden about 5m almost directly behind a magnificent Rata which has a board of information in front of it.  The cache is loaded with toys and is a one litre sistema inside a 2 litre icecream container.  Hopefully waterproof, there has to be some reason for all the lush growth of ferns, Nikau palms and big trees. Rata roots stretch a long way and there is a nice possie under a rata root at the base of a nikau.
