Geocache Description:


This circular 3 mile walk starts from Anderton Nature Park car park.  The route to follow is the Blue Dragonfly trail way markers (1-11) if following the the Saltscape trail leaflet.

This short walk is through the Northwich Woodlands (alongside Uplands Forestry Commision,, Anderton Nature Park and Marbury Country Park).  These woodlands have a combined total of more than 20miles of interlocking paths for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Big Wood, ancient woodlland which is one of the key features of Marbury Country Park , is opposite the canal towpath as you walk back to Anderton Natrure Park..

Please note if following trail leaftlet at number 11, take a left turn at the site of the old Pumping Station, where the cottages now stand.  Right takes you to the Lion Salt Works (about 1 mile)  on the canal tow path.

The trail leaflet is available free from Marbury Country Park, Lion Salt Works, Northwich Customer Service Centre (former Information Centre) and Public Library.
